Alumni News

Yoseph Melaku, current senior at USC, was recently the recipient of the Creative Artists Agency Fund for Student Support from the USC School of Cinematic Arts. This is one of the scholarship funds created by such prestigious organizations as the CAA to provide support for incredibly gifted students to continue their education and not feel the burden of rising costs at private universities. Yoseph was also kind enough to pay it forward and recognize Minds Matter of Portland in his outstanding article about connecting your passions with volunteering. We are so proud of our alumni!

Melissa

Melissa Munson is a current student at Pacific Lutheran University, a school that has long supported and enrolled many Minds Matter students. We love hearing updates from our students and Melissa was kind enough to reach out and tell us all about what she’s been up too. Outside of being a busy bee with 14 academic credits in challenging courses, Melissa is also a senator with the Associate Students of PLU group and a member of Emerging Leaders where she gets opportunities to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. In her words “overall I’m having an incredible time!” We cannot wait to hear more from Melissa and our other outstanding alumni.

Richa Rejeno MM Graduate from Occidental and Francis

Congratulations to Ricah Rejano, a graduate of the Minds Matter of Portland program, now an alumni from Occidental College. Ricah’s mentor Francis Gonzalez was able to attend her graduation this past spring in California. We are incredibly proud of our students, and seeing them graduate from college truly completes the story!
